How Community Investment Works

This is an initial phase to gauge interest among ordinary folks for investment in Homebuyer's Hero. A possibility to have a stake in a company with big ambition, aligned with the social good and fundamental human need for shelter. We're following a clear, structured process to allow our community to invest alongside professional investors once our pledge target is met.

Your investment converts to equity in a future funding round. To keep our company structure clean for future investment, all community funds are pooled into a single Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) which holds the shares on your behalf.

Even after converting to shares, your investment remains illiquid as they are in a private company. A financial return is typically only realised years later upon a "liquidity event" like a share buy-back, company sale or an IPO.

Please Note: This investment is completely separate from your scoring assessments. If your application is not capable of supporting being bound to a development, the investment will not change this.

  • A discount on your post-planning success fee, equal to 50% of your investment amount or 50% of the fee, whichever is lower.
  • In the unlikely event of a clash or conflict in a geographical area with limited buyer response, your development would be prioritised as long as all else is equal for the good of homebuyers and the other homebuilder is not also an investor. Unlikely to arise, but comforting nonetheless.

Ireland's housing market is broken - young people can't afford homes, builders can't get projects off the ground, and families are trapped in an endless cycle of rising prices and dwindling supply.
